An investigation has been initiated ex officio by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the "indecent acts" and "exhibitionism" charges related to the dance and outfits at the concert of the Manifest group, which took place at Küçükçiftlik Park and sparked controversy.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation has been initiated ex officio against the Manifest group, which held its first +18 concert at Küçükçiftlik Park, due to "Indecent Acts" and "Exhibitionism" related to their dance and outfits during the concert.
"VIOLATION OF SOCIETY'S SENSE OF DECENCY" The Chief Public Prosecutor's statement included the following: "In the broadcasts and shares made by the press and media outlets as well as social media platforms, it has been determined that during the public concert held by the Manifest Group at the concert venue named Küçükçiftlik Park located in the Harbiye neighborhood of Şişli district on 06/09/2025, the group members singing and individuals dancing and performing on stage violated and offended the common sense of decency (shame and modesty) that society possesses. The actions and movements that constitute an attack on the values of decency, chastity, shame, and modesty, which are an important part of societal culture, have been identified as harmful and negatively influential on the feelings of children and youth. Therefore, an ex officio investigation has been initiated by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding these actions during the public concert, in accordance with Article 225 of the Turkish Penal Code, which regulates "Indecent Acts" and "Exhibitionism," and necessary research, examination, and identification of suspects have been instructed to the Law Enforcement Units."
STAGE COSTUMES AND DANCES BECAME A SEPARATE EVENT Manifest, which has made a name for itself as Turkey's new girl group, made headlines with its first +18 concert held last night at Istanbul KüçükÇiftlik Park. The group, consisting of Mina Solak, Esin Bahat, Zeynep Sude Oktay, Lidya Pınar, Sueda Uluca, and Emine Hilal Yelekçi, took the stage in black-themed outfits. The group's choice of outfits and energetic dance performances created a significant buzz on social media.
The costumes particularly preferred by Manifest during their dance choreographies led to differing opinions on social media. While some users appreciated the bold stage show, others expressed criticism. The group announced that approximately 12,000 people attended their concert, which was organized for the first time with an age limit of 18.
SOCIAL MEDIA WAS DIVIDED The concert of the Manifest group divided social media. Some users stated, "They will dress, dance, and make music as they wish," while others commented, "I see nothing related to art," and "These concerts should be banned."
THE GOVERNORATE OF ERZURUM HAD CANCELED THEIR CONCERTS The Manifest group's concert in Erzurum was also canceled by the Erzurum Governorate on the grounds of "clothing."
