In the hall where union member workers from the thermal power plant and coal mines in the Muğla region came to meet with Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras, Ümmü Gülsüm Dural, a reporter for the local Yenigün Newspaper who was following the news, was physically assaulted by a female colleague who grabbed her by the throat.
A large number of workers affiliated with the Maden-İş and Tes-İş Unions came to the Türkan Saylan Center of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality to meet with the Mayor of Muğla, Ahmet Aras. The workers who entered the hall began to chant slogans continuously. Mayor Ahmet Aras was unable to speak due to the slogans.
A FEMALE JOURNALIST WAS CHOKED
A local newspaper reporter, Ümmü Gülsüm Dural, who was following the news in the hall, was verbally attacked by union members. The young female reporter, caught among male union members, was physically attacked by a woman among the workers, who choked her.
Union member workers escalated their disruption in the hall to the point of throwing helmets. They also threw helmets at Taner Yiğit, the Head of the Press Department of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, and at the podium where Mayor Aras was located.
