In a parking lot at Atatürk Auto Industry in Sarıyer, Istanbul, a fire broke out, turning 5 vehicles to ashes. Police teams arrested a suspect in connection with the incident. The suspect, who claimed to have started a fire to keep warm and has a criminal record of 13 offenses, was arrested by the court to which he was brought.

5 VEHICLES TURNED TO ASHES IN AUTO INDUSTRY
On Saturday, January 31, around 03:30, 5 vehicles were engulfed in flames at Atatürk Auto Industry in Sarıyer Maslak. Upon notification, police and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene. While the fire brigade teams extinguished the fire, police teams initiated an investigation on suspicion of arson. The police, examining security camera footage, determined that one suspect walked away from the scene during the fire.
"I RAN AWAY WHEN I SAW IT SPREADING"
After the footage, the police from the Sarıyer Patrol Teams, working on possible routes the suspect could have taken, attempted to stop a person walking on the street who resembled the individual in the camera footage. However, when the person saw the police, he began to act suspiciously. After questioning, Kazım K. confessed to his crime and was taken into custody. Kazım K., who was questioned at the police station and was found to be a construction worker, stated that he started a fire with cardboard and plastics to warm himself and that the flames spread to the surroundings, after which he got scared and fled the scene.
SUSPECT WITH 13 CRIMINAL RECORDS ARRESTED
The suspect, who has 13 criminal records for offenses including 'Disturbing the peace and tranquility of individuals', 'Intentional injury', 'Fraud', 'Threats-insults', 'Motorcycle theft', and 'Violation of the law on the protection of the family', was referred to the courthouse after his procedures. Kazım K., who was brought before the court, was arrested for the crime of 'Damaging property'.
