The forest fires that broke out in Selçuk, Menderes, and Çeşme have been brought under control with aerial and ground intervention. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, stated that 350 hectares in Selçuk and 150 hectares in Menderes were reduced to ashes. Some suspects related to the incident have been taken into custody.
In the forest area on the Selçuk-Kuşadası highway in İzmir, the fire that broke out for unknown reasons was intervened by teams from the air and land day and night without damaging the current HTML. Minister Yumaklı stated that there was no burning house or injured citizen in the fire that was barely brought under control.
"ALL 3 FIRES UNDER CONTROL"
In his latest statement to the press, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı said, "We mentioned that we have a fight against fire in Selçuk, Menderes, and Susurluk. As of now, we can say that all 3 fires have been brought under control." Minister Yumaklı emphasized the need to be careful as strong winds are expected in the region next week.
