The first photo of Rıza Akpolat, the Mayor of Beşiktaş, who was detained as part of an investigation initiated on the grounds that he organized tender processes by bribing mayors and senior executives of municipalities in some districts of Istanbul, ensuring that his own company won the tenders, has been released. Akpolat has undergone a health check.

In some municipalities in Istanbul, a probe has been initiated regarding the allegation that certain mayors and senior executives of municipalities organized tender processes by bribing mayors, ensuring that tenders were awarded to their own companies. As part of this investigation, a detention order has been issued for 47 suspects, including members of a criminal organization led by "Aziz İhsan Aktaş".

Among those detained is Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat. Akpolat, who was detained in the Edremit district of Balıkesir, was brought to Bayrampaşa State Hospital for a health check. While being taken for the health check, Akpolat responded to questions from the press, stating, "My lawyers will make the necessary statement. We do not know what happened; no explanation has been given to us. We were detained in the morning hours." In response to the question, "Were you on vacation?", Akpolat replied, "I was in Edremit due to my father's illness."
