"The Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) has been appointed as a trustee for 121 companies affiliated with Can Holding by court order within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
During this period, TMSF's main aim is to protect the rights of company employees and third parties and to ensure that all operations continue without interruption. For this purpose, meetings have also been held with company executives. All companies under our responsibility will be managed with the understanding of 'prudent merchant' as required by the legislation, ensuring stability and a secure environment.
Educational activities will continue without interruption, and the education of our students will be carried out safely with the contributions of our teachers and the support of our parents."
THE INCIDENT
As part of the investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a detention order was issued today for a total of 10 people, including Can Holding executives Mehmet Şakir Can, Kemal Can, and Kenan Tekdağ, on charges of "establishing a criminal organization," "smuggling," "fraud," and "money laundering."
As part of the operation, trustees were appointed to 121 companies, including media organizations such as Bilgi University, Habertürk, Bloomberg HT, Show TV, and educational institutions such as Doğa College and Istanbul Bilgi University, and these companies were seized.
According to the allegations in the investigation, activities such as concealing large amounts of money between companies within the holding, tax evasion, use of fake documents, and laundering of income obtained from crime through various companies are involved.
