Gürsel Tekin, who has been appointed as a trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, has released a video statement for the first time. Appearing alongside the trustee committee, Tekin said, "We have started our duty. We will fight for rights, law, and justice. Trust us; we will do what the principles, rules, and traditions of the Republican People's Party require. We must immediately take the CHP out of the corridors of the courthouse."
The Istanbul 45th Civil Court decided to suspend the president and management elected at the CHP's 38th Ordinary Istanbul Provincial Congress and to appoint a temporary management board to the Provincial Presidency.
EXPELLED FROM CHP
The court appointed Gürsel Tekin as the trustee of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency. Immediately after this development, which caused great controversy, Tekin was expelled from the CHP. CHP members, who started a vigil at the provincial building, stated that they would not allow the trustee to enter the building in any way.
GOING TO THE PROVINCIAL BUILDING ON MONDAY
Tekin announced that he would request an appointment from CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. Stating that he would reconcile the party and end the internal conflicts within the party, Tekin also revealed the date he would go to the provincial building. He announced that he would go to the provincial building on Monday, September 8.
HE MADE HIS FIRST VIDEO STATEMENT
As eyes turned to Monday, Gürsel Tekin appeared in front of the camera with the trustee committee and made his first video statement.
"WE ARE ALL REPUBLICAN PEOPLE"
Conveying the message "We have started our duty," Tekin used the following expressions in the video; "I am a person who has served in various levels of the CHP for a long time and has also served as the provincial chairman in Istanbul for 3.5 years. We have started our duty with 4 very experienced friends from the Republican People's Party, who will work within democratic rules to solve the crisis in the coming days. We are all Republican People."
"CHP SHOULD NOT HAVE FALLEN INTO THE COURT CORRIDORS"
Some negative situations have arisen outside of all of us. The CHP is a party established in the battlefields, and it should not have fallen into the court corridors. Our primary duty is to get out of these court corridors as soon as possible and to embrace all CHP members within the law of brotherhood and fight. We will fight for rights, law, and justice. Trust us; we will do whatever the principles, rules, and traditions of the Republican People's Party require. No one should expect anything else from us. Because we are Republican People."
