A heartbreaking incident occurred last night around 10:30 PM in Çayır Street, Çayır Neighborhood, located in the Yenişehir district of Bursa. According to reports, when the father Burak Durmuş (32), who was working late at his job, was not at home, the mother Eylem Durmuş (29) left the stove on for the pot she put on for dinner and went to the bakery to get bread.

THE POT LEFT ON THE STOVE CAUSED A FIRE

At that moment, flames erupted from the pot, igniting the curtains first. The fire, which started in the kitchen area of the house, quickly spread to the room where 5-month-old Sevginur Durmuş and her brothers Enes Durmuş (3) and Efe Durmuş (4) were located on the upper floor of the house.

2 SIBLINGS LOST THEIR LIVES

While 3-year-old Enes Durmuş managed to descend the stairs to the lower floor, 5-month-old Sevginur and 4-year-old Efe perished in the flames. When Eylem Durmuş returned home and saw her son Enes Durmuş injured and semi-conscious in front of a neighbor's door, she screamed, causing neighbors to rush into the street.

THE BODIES OF THE SIBLINGS WERE TAKEN TO THE MORGUE

Firefighters from the Metropolitan Municipality, who arrived at the scene shortly after the notification, extinguished the fire in a short time. The bodies of 5-month-old Sevginur and her 4-year-old brother Efe, who lost their lives, were taken to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy. It was learned that the middle sibling, Enes Durmuş, who was taken to the hospital in a wounded state, was not in critical condition. An investigation has been initiated regarding the fire.

"IT'S HARD TO DESCRIBE THE PAIN WITH WORDS"

Yenişehir District Mayor Ercan Özel, in a statement regarding the fire, said, "The death of 4-year-old Efe Durmuş and 5-month-old baby Sevginur Durmuş due to the fire that broke out in the house of Burak Durmuş in Çayır Neighborhood around 10:30 PM last night deeply affected us all. We reached the scene immediately at night and were with the family, but there was nothing anyone could do. May God grant patience to their families and relatives, as well as to our entire district. We will perform our last duty today to send our children to heaven. We are struggling to describe this pain with words," he said.

BREAD DETAIL IN THE STROLLER

Meanwhile, it was reported that the funerals of the two siblings would be held after the afternoon prayer in Demirboğa Neighborhood today. In the house that became the grave for the two little siblings, a bag of bread wrapped in a plastic bag in the baby stroller caught attention, while emotional moments shared by their mother on social media remained as memories of the siblings.
