In Şehitler Village, located in the Enez district of Edirne, the former village headman Alaaddin Yaman was shot and killed with a shotgun by Fethi Aktaş, with whom he had an argument, in the village square.

SHOT WITH A SHOTGUN BY THE FORMER MUHTAR
The incident occurred in the evening at the Şehitler village square. According to allegations, the former village muhtar Alaaddin Yaman (55) started an argument with his wife's relative Fethi Aktaş (58) for an unknown reason when they encountered each other in the village square. As the argument escalated, Aktaş fired at Yaman with the shotgun he had with him.
DIED
Upon notification, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical teams determined that Alaaddin Yaman had lost his life during their examination. Shortly after, Aktaş, who surrendered to the gendarmerie with the shotgun, was taken into custody. Yaman's body was sent to the Edirne Forensic Medicine Institution for autopsy after the examination by the on-duty prosecutor and gendarmerie. The investigation launched regarding the incident is ongoing.
