The Chief Advisor to the President and Member of the Economic Policy Council, Yiğit Bulut, passed away at the age of 53 while receiving treatment for cancer in the hospital. The details of Yiğit Bulut's funeral ceremony have been revealed.
Bulut, a 53-year-old man undergoing cancer treatment at a private hospital in Maslak, passed away in the morning hours.
A funeral ceremony will be held for Bulut tomorrow afternoon at the Marmara University Faculty of Theology Mosque. Bulut's body will be buried after the prayer performed here.
FUNERAL CEREMONY POST BY HIS EX-WIFE
Şule Zeybek, Bulut's ex-wife whom he married in 2000 and divorced in 2010, made a post regarding the funeral on her social media account. According to Şule Zeybek's statement, the funeral will be taken from the Marmara University Faculty of Theology Mosque located in Altunizade after the afternoon prayer on Saturday, July 12.
WHO IS YİĞİT BULUT?
Born in 1972 in the Keşan district of Edirne, Yiğit Bulut is known for his identity as a journalist and economic commentator. After completing his secondary education at Galatasaray High School, he graduated from Bilkent University with a degree in Banking and Finance, and then pursued a master's degree at Sorbonne University in France.
Bulut began his media career as an economic commentator on television channels such as Kanal 6, Kanal E, and CNN Türk, and wrote columns on economics and finance for newspapers like Radikal, Vatan, and Referans. He also produced and hosted the programs "Parametre" and "Finans Analiz." In 2009, he was appointed as the General Director of Habertürk TV and left this position in 2012. He later worked at Star Media Group and served as the general director of 24 TV.
In his political career, Bulut was appointed as the Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister in 2013 and became the Chief Economic Advisor to the President in 2014. He was appointed as a member of the Presidential Economic Policy Council in 2018.
In his private life, he married Şule Zeybek, the daughter of former minister Namık Kemal Zeybek and a news anchor at Kanal D, in 2000, and they divorced in 2010. He has a son named Ahmet Yiğit from this marriage.
