A 10-year-old boy in Konya, who was choked by a classmate, lost his life after a 45-day struggle for survival in the hospital. It was revealed that the boy's older brother also collapsed and passed away last year while fighting with a friend at school during lunch.

On May 28, a heartbreaking incident occurred at Dikilitaş Sahip Ata Primary School located in the Kosova neighborhood of the Selçuklu district in Konya. A dispute broke out in the classroom between 4th-grade students Yusuf Taşkın and İ.Ç.

CLASSMATE CHOKED HIM, HE COLLAPSED

During this time, it was alleged that İ.Ç. choked Yusuf Taşkın, who then collapsed and fell to the ground. The teachers at the school provided first aid to Taşkın and notified the health teams. Yusuf Taşkın was taken to Selçuk University Medical Faculty Hospital by the arriving ambulance. İ.Ç. was taken to the Konya Police Department's Child Branch, where his statement was taken in the presence of a psychologist, and he was then handed over to his family.

Yusuf Taşkın, who had been receiving treatment in the intensive care unit for 45 days, lost his battle for life last night.

Yusuf Taşkın's brother, Mustafa Taşkın, an 8th-grade student, had also fought with a friend at school during the canteen break last April, and after the teacher intervened, he collapsed. Mustafa Taşkın, who was reported to have had a heart rhythm disorder, died at the scene.

Yusuf Taşkın's funeral will be held today at the Altuntaş neighborhood cemetery in Akşehir district.
