The German financial giant has announced its minimum wage forecast for Turkey.

The German financial giant has announced its minimum wage forecast for Turkey.

07.10.2024 15:21

The German financial giant Deutsche Bank has announced its predictions regarding the expected increase in the minimum wage in Turkey. The world-renowned bank stated that the general consensus is an increase between 25-30 percent, emphasizing that a minimum wage increase exceeding 30 percent would put businesses in a challenging position in the face of a slowing economy.

The net minimum wage for 2024 has been set at 17,002, while the lack of interim raises has caused the wages to erode against inflation.

GERMAN GIANT REVEALS ITS FORECAST

As the month of December approaches, when the new minimum wage will be determined, the German financial giant Deutsche Bank has also shared its forecasts on the matter.

GENERAL OPINION IS BETWEEN 25-30 PERCENT

It has been stated that the minimum wage increase for 2025 is at the center of discussions in the fight against inflation, and the general opinion is that an increase of between 25-30 percent is expected.

It has also been emphasized that an increase in the minimum wage of over 30 percent could put businesses in a challenging position against a slowing economy and could be disruptive in terms of inflation expectations.

"ANOTHER ADJUSTMENT IS EXPECTED IN MID-2025"

While there are those who believe that salary increases other than the minimum wage could exceed 30 percent, some economists argue that the reduction in profit margins will prevent businesses from making increases over 30 percent, and that the first raises many companies will implement at the beginning of the year will be around 20 percent, with another adjustment expected in mid-2025.
