In Beyoğlu, 74-year-old H.B. was caught selling drugs inside a thermos. During searches conducted at his home, 132 pieces of drugs and 97,000 Turkish lira in cash were seized. H.B. was arrested by the court he was brought before.
The teams of the Istanbul Security Branch B Regional Directorate initiated an operation after determining that drug trafficking was taking place in a house located in Kalyoncu Kulluğu Neighborhood. During the operation, the house and its surroundings were monitored by police teams for a while. Three individuals who entered the house were searched by the security teams when they came out after a while. During the search, a quantity of drugs was found on one of the suspects. Following this, the security teams conducted an operation at the house and apprehended H.B., known as 'Grandpa with a Cane' (74).
DRUGS SOLD IN A THERMOS
During the searches conducted in the house, a total of 318 grams of drugs were seized, including 41 ready-to-sell drugs in a thermos, 81 ready-to-sell tobacco drugs, and 10 ready-to-sell drugs soaked in napkins. Additionally, 96,900 Turkish Liras in cash were seized during the searches in the house.
THE SUSPECT KNOWN AS 'GRANDPA WITH A CANE' ARRESTED
H.B., who was taken into custody, along with 2 suspects who exited the house, were taken to the police station. After their statements were taken and legal proceedings were initiated against them, H.B. was referred to the courthouse. H.B., who was seen walking with a cane, was arrested by the court for the crime of 'drug trafficking.' The other 2 suspects who exited H.B.'s house were released after legal proceedings were initiated against them for the crime of 'drug use.'
