In the Çerkezköy district of Tekirdağ, a woman who allegedly attempted to kill her husband, whom she was in the process of divorcing, injured him with the handle of the gun during a struggle after the firearm failed to fire. The woman was taken into custody and arrested.
THE ARGUMENT TURNED INTO A FIGHT
The incident occurred at a kiosk located on Kartal Street in the Bağlık neighborhood of Çerkezköy district. According to allegations, Mersiye I. and her husband Rahim I., who were in the process of divorce, encountered each other at the kiosk. The argument that started between the parties quickly escalated into a fight.
THE GUN JAMMED
According to allegations, Mersiye I. aimed the gun she had with her at her husband and attempted to fire. However, the gun jammed and did not discharge. During the ensuing struggle, Rahim I. was injured by a blow to his head from the gun's handle. Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured person was taken to the hospital as a precaution after initial treatment.
"I DID IT IN A MOMENT OF ANGER"
Mersiye I., who was taken into custody by police teams, stated in her testimony that she used the gun "in a moment of anger" due to a dispute over property division during the divorce process.
After her procedures at the police station, the woman was referred to the courthouse and arrested by the court on charges of "attempted intentional killing" and sent to prison. The investigation into the incident continues.
