Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appointed Major General Roman Goffman as the new director of Mossad. Goffman will take over the position from David Barnea on June 2 and will serve in this role for five years.

NETANYAHU SIGNED THE APPOINTMENT
In a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, it was reported that Major General Roman Goffman's appointment as Mossad Director has been approved. The statement noted that after the approval of the committee chaired by former President of the Israeli Supreme Court Asher Grunis, Prime Minister Netanyahu signed the letter regarding Goffman's appointment.
THE TERM IS 5 YEARS
It was stated that Goffman, who will take over the position from David Barnea on June 2, will remain at the head of Mossad for 5 years.

It was reported in the press that Netanyahu's decision to appoint his military secretary Roman Goffman as the new director of Mossad led to rising objections within the security organization.
