In the city of Verona, Italy, 57-year-old Maria R., suffering from "hoarding" disorder, lost her life under the belongings she had accumulated in her home. Upon receiving a report, the teams that went to the house encountered the lifeless body of the unfortunate woman behind a door they had to force open.

In the city of Verona, Italy, a psychological disorder known as "hoarding" (disposophobia) led to a tragic death. 57-year-old Maria R. lost her life in her home after being trapped under a pile of belongings she had accumulated over the years.

Maria R.'s boyfriend, who had not heard from her for a few days, reported the situation to the authorities. Upon receiving the alert, security forces and firefighters arrived at the scene to encounter a horrifying sight.

THE DOOR WAS HARDLY OPENED

Firefighters who reached the scene struggled to enter due to the dense accumulation of items behind the apartment's entrance door. The team, which forced the door open, found that every corner of the house was completely filled with packages, bags, and various items purchased from flea markets and internet sites.

SHE DIED WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO CALL FOR HELP

As a result of the investigations, the lifeless body of the 57-year-old woman was found in an area where the items were so dense that access was nearly impossible. Initial findings indicated that Maria R. had been trapped under a heavy pile of belongings that had fallen on her and died of asphyxiation. It is believed that the unfortunate woman was unable to move due to the weight of the items and could not call for help.

SHE HAD TURNED HER HOME INTO A LABYRINTH

It was reported that Maria R., who was said to be struggling with disposophobia, known as "compulsive hoarding" by those around her, had transformed her home into a labyrinth of narrow passages that only she knew, not allowing anyone else to enter. This situation was emphasized as completely preventing any outside help from arriving at the time of the accident.
