BAHÇELİ-DAVUTOĞLU TENSION
The political tension between MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu deepened, especially from 2021 onwards, with harsh rhetoric. Bahçeli's criticisms of Davutoğlu and the expressions he used raised the tension between the two leaders.
While targeting Davutoğlu due to his stance towards the MHP, Bahçeli's outburst using the term "Serok Ahmet" was widely discussed in the public for a long time. The MHP leader also accused Davutoğlu of "cowardice" and closed the door to the requests for meetings directed at him.
