In Istanbul's Zeytinburnu, an accident in which 2 people lost their lives after an IETT bus went out of control and crashed into a site wall following a car's maneuver was captured on the vehicle's camera.
Footage has emerged of the IETT bus accident in Zeytinburnu where 2 people died and 19 people were injured.
The accident occurred yesterday at around 17:00 on Kennedy Street, Kazlıçeşme Neighborhood. The driver of the car traveling in the left lane, R.S.F., wanted to enter the right fork. Noticing the IETT bus traveling in the middle lane, the driver abandoned the maneuver and returned to his own lane. The IETT bus driver, A.G., who tried to move to the right lane to avoid hitting the car, lost control of the vehicle. The bus crashed into the garden wall of a complex and stopped. Upon the notification, fire brigade, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
BUS DRIVER SERIOUSLY INJURED
In the checks carried out by medical teams, it was determined that Solmaz Karadoğan and one other person lost their lives in the accident. In the accident, where bus driver A.G. was seriously injured, 18 passengers were also injured. Due to the accident, all lanes on the side road of Kennedy Street were closed to traffic. After the teams completed their work, the bus was removed from the scene.

The moment of the accident was captured on the bus's in-vehicle camera. In the footage, the car is seen cutting in front of the bus and then returning to its own lane after a while. The moments when the bus, whose driver lost control of the steering wheel, goes onto the curb and crashes into the complex wall are also seen in the images.
CAR DRIVER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
On the other hand; within the scope of the investigation into the accident, the car driver R.S.F. was taken into custody. The suspect's procedures at the police station have been completed. After the procedures, R.S.F. was referred to the courthouse.
