In the updated "Foods Subject to Adulteration or Counterfeiting" list issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, irregularities were detected in many foods including meat, milk, lahmacun, and pide. On the list, which also includes well-known brands, the most widespread irregularities were found in meat and meat products.
The list of "Foods Subject to Adulteration or Misbranding" shared with the public by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has been updated. In the list dated June 2, violations were detected in many products from companies operating in different provinces. Inspections found non-compliant practices in a wide range of products, including meat and meat products, milk and dairy products, vegetable oils, honey, and spices.
PRODUCTS THAT ENDANGER HEALTH HAVE BEEN LISTED
Examinations revealed that some products contain ingredients that may pose risks to human health.
During inspections, a drug active ingredient was detected in a herbal paste produced by Fito Farma İlaç İçecek Kozmetik ve Kimya Sanayi Ticaret Ltd. Şti. Natamycin was found in full-fat yogurt from Talha Acar Süt Ürünleri. Horse meat was detected in raw cubed meats from various companies. It was determined that unauthorized dyes were used in black teas.
WIDESPREAD NON-COMPLIANCE IN MEAT AND MEAT PRODUCTS
Analyses in the meat and meat products group found poultry meat, offal, and mechanically separated meat in many facilities.
During inspections, mechanically separated poultry meat was detected in products from Göle Et ve Et Ürünleri. Offal and poultry meat were found in meatball and hamburger products from establishments such as Eser Büfe and Darık's Steakhouse. Meat mixtures and offal were detected in lahmacun, kebab, and pita fillings from various companies. Soy and horse meat were found in Romado Hazır Yemek's beef roast.
FAT CONTENT AND ADDITIVES DETECTED IN MILK AND DAIRY PRODUCTS
Examinations of milk and dairy products revealed non-compliance in basic components. The fat content in kashar cheese produced by Mutum Süt Ürünleri was found to be low. Non-compliant fat content was determined in half-fat white cheese from Doğuş Et ve Süt Mamulleri. Melting salts were detected in Fidan Süt Ürünleri products. Low fat content and melting salts were found in Kaya Süt Ürünleri kashar cheese.
ADULTERATION DETECTED IN VEGETABLE OILS AND HONEY
Numerous non-compliances were also identified in vegetable oils and beekeeping products. Seed oil and low-quality oil mixtures were detected in olive oils produced by Sonkoz Yağ Gıda and Coşkar Yağ Gıda. Adulteration was determined in Ödemiş Yöresel olive oil. Adulteration or misbranding was found in strained flower honeys from Enfa Gıda and other brands. Non-compliance was also detected in unlabeled pine honey and other honey products.
