In the case regarding the moments when businessman Hakan Turan was killed on the street in Mersin, a 'red notice' has been issued for the fugitive suspect O.Ç., who is wanted for the crime of "instigating intentional murder."

The second hearing of the case regarding the murder of 34-year-old businessman Hakan Turan in Mersin was held at the 9th High Criminal Court. The hearing was attended by detained defendants Berkant Ö. and Hasan K., along with the lawyers of the parties. B.A., one of the defendants who was released under judicial control, participated via SEGBIS from the 8th High Criminal Court of Küçükçekmece, Istanbul.

"O.Ç. LEFT US IN THIS WAY"

After listening to the testimony of the defendant who is not in custody, the court granted the detained defendant Hasan K. the floor. In his statement, he said, "When O.Ç. gave us this task, I knew he was in Russia. After O.Ç. was arrested, we had no further communication. O.Ç. left us in this way. O.Ç. said you will get the weapon from this number. I called and went to get it via WhatsApp. The person who gave me the weapon was around 30-35 years old," describing where he received it. The defendant also stated that O.Ç. sent a total of 45,000 TL, first 25,000 TL and then 20,000 TL, and noted that the money was brought by the person's uncle and cousin.

"O.Ç. BETRAYED US"

Detained defendant Berkant Ö., who used the weapon, stated that they had planned to shoot Hakan Turan in the leg a day before the murder, but they changed their minds when someone else got out of the car. After the murder, Berkant Ö. explained that they intended to flee abroad, saying, "After we crossed to Iğdır, we were going to inform O.Ç. by phone; he was in Russia, he didn’t tell us who would pick us up, he didn’t give a name, he just said I will have you picked up. It seems that O.Ç. betrayed us."

RED NOTICE DECISION

After listening to the defendants and their lawyers, the court decided to issue a red notice for the alleged instigator O.Ç. and to capture him. The court requested the law enforcement to carry out the necessary work to find the person who delivered the weapon to the defendants and decided to continue the detention of the detained defendants, postponing the hearing to a later date for the testimony of witnesses.
