In the bribery and corruption investigation involving 16 billion TL, in which 57 people were detained in Bursa, an organizational chart has emerged that allegedly places Mayor Mustafa Bozbey as the leader of the organization. The investigation file states that the intermediaries referred to a person they did not name as "Big Man," who is indicated to be Mustafa Bozbey.
As part of the bribery and corruption investigation conducted in Bursa, 57 people were detained, including the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Mustafa Bozbey, his wife, daughter, and siblings. The suspects were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station.
In the investigation carried out by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that the total transaction volume of the criminal proceeds reached 16 billion TL as a result of approximately 6 months of MASAK examinations, and that 213 properties and 35 vehicles were seized.
ORGANIZATION CHART ENTERED THE FILE
In the organization chart prepared as part of the investigation, it was claimed that Mustafa Bozbey was in the position of "organization leader." According to the information and documents in the file, it was alleged that the bribery mechanism was carried out not only within the municipality but also through front companies established via family relations and third parties.
CONTRACTORS' STATEMENTS ATTRACTED ATTENTION
The statements of the contractors in the file included allegations that large amounts of money and real estate were demanded for project approvals. One contractor claimed that in 2018, an initial request of 20 million TL and 5 apartments was made for project approval, and it was agreed upon for 14 million TL and 3 apartments as a result of negotiations, with the money being delivered in cash. In the same statement, it was alleged that municipal transactions were carried out through intermediaries referred to as "bag men," and that the person they referred to as "The Big Man" was Mustafa Bozbey. Another contractor claimed that apartment requests were made for license transactions and that some payments were made through different means instead of cash. Allegations of bribery requests within the scope of tenders and that payments were made through various methods were also among the claims.
THE OLD CHIEF OF STAFF MANAGED THE MONEY TRAFFIC
According to the investigation file, it was alleged that some money transfers were carried out through the former chief of staff and were transferred to various individuals and institutions. In this context, it was stated that money movements of different amounts were detected.
On the other hand, allegations that some companies made vehicle donations in exchange for illegal zoning increases were also included in the file.
