Iran's Chief of General Staff Ali Abdullahi issued stern warnings regarding a possible attack from the US and Israel. Abdullahi, saying they would respond without waiting if they saw any sign of an attack, stated that they would spread their targets over a wider geography. An Iranian security official, meanwhile, noted that economic assets and infrastructure systems could also be targeted in a possible war, saying, "The next war will be a war of surprises."
Iranian Chief of Staff Ali Abdullahi stated that if any "sign of an attack" against his country is seen, they will respond immediately with greater force and without geographical restrictions.
"WE WILL SPREAD TARGETS TO A 'WIDER GEOGRAPHY'"
According to Iranian state television, after the country's leader Mojtaba Khamenei met with senior military officials, Chief of Staff Abdullahi made a written statement.
Stating that they will act in accordance with Khamenei's orders, Abdullahi said, "The Iranian Armed Forces are ready to defend the country and the Iranian people and to confront the American and Zionist (Israeli) enemies with great strength and determination, without geographical restrictions, using new and advanced equipment and technologies."
Abdullahi, who stated that they will further strengthen their preparations with each passing day, argued that if the US and Israel carry out any attack, they will give them "a response more severe and effective than the previous war, an unimaginable response."
Stating that in a possible attack they will spread their targets to "a wider geography," Abdullahi claimed that their enemies will encounter "a new surprise," and stated that if they see any sign of an attack, without waiting for it to happen, they will respond "immediately, effectively and without geographical restrictions."
"THE NEXT WAR WILL BE A WAR OF SURPRISES"
On the other hand, according to reports reflected in the local press, an unnamed Iranian security official also stated that Iran's target list against US and Israeli attacks has been updated and its scope expanded.
The official said, "In addition to the enemy's economic investments and assets, smart infrastructure systems will be defined as part of the enemy's aggression and will be Iran's legitimate targets. The next war will be a war of surprises."
The official noted that Iran's attacks will affect wider areas beyond the Strait of Hormuz and the energy crisis, emphasizing that this impact will be felt globally.
The official also argued that the next war will be a long war and that Iran will make unpredictable moves.
