Israeli police assaulted Turkish tourists who wanted to spend the night of Miraç Kandili at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem and deported one of the three people they detained.
The Israeli police caused difficulties for Turkish citizens who wanted to spend the Night of Ascension at Al-Aqsa Mosque throughout the day.
THEY ASSAULTED A 15-YEAR-OLD TURKISH CITIZEN
During the day, the Israeli police assaulted a 15-year-old Turkish citizen and later detained a Turkish-German couple in the evening.
A TURKISH WOMAN TOURIST WAS 'FORCEFULLY' DETAINED
It was reported that a Turkish citizen woman was forcibly detained due to her reaction against the Israeli police's use of physical force. The Turkish citizen man was released later, but it was shared that the woman was deported by Israel.
ENTRY BAN TO THE AREA WAS IMPOSED
It was reported that an "entry ban" was imposed on the "Old City area," which includes Al-Aqsa Mosque, for another Turkish citizen who was detained by the Israeli police in the morning. In another incident that occurred in the courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque in the evening, a Turkish citizen was assaulted by Israeli police who stormed the mosque.
SHOCKED WITH ELECTRICITY ON THEIR LEGS
It was recorded that after learning that someone was Turkish, the Israeli police assaulted him with kicks and batons without any reason, shocked his legs with electricity, and then forcibly removed him from Al-Aqsa. The Israeli police spokesperson left questions unanswered regarding violations against Turkish citizens inside and at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque. It was stated that violations concerning Turkish citizens were being monitored by Turkey's Consulate General in Jerusalem and the Embassy in Tel Aviv.
