In this context, many roads will be closed to traffic, and alternative routes have been determined. On New Year's Eve, 60,000 police officers will be on duty in Istanbul. The statement from the Istanbul Governorship is as follows: - All necessary measures have been taken for our Istanbul to welcome the year 2025 in peace. On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, security measures will be implemented at the highest level throughout the city, especially in areas where our citizens are expected to gather in large numbers. - Our police, gendarmerie, and coast guard units will be on duty with a total of 60,068 personnel to ensure that our citizens can welcome the year 2025 in peace. Inspection teams will monitor unregistered rentals in daily rented houses and hotels, support service teams will be ready for potential phone, internet, and natural gas outages, and our Fire Department, Municipal Police, and AFAD teams will be on duty to intervene in any adverse situations that may arise.
