As of midnight, a price increase of 1.61 TL per liter was applied to gasoline and 8.89 TL per liter to diesel. While these record increases immediately reflected on pump prices, the SCT (Special Consumption Tax) reduction made yesterday has been effectively reversed.

Fluctuations in exchange rates and Brent oil prices continue to directly affect fuel prices. As of midnight, a price hike has come into effect for both gasoline and diesel groups.

With the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, the fixed SCT (Special Consumption Tax) on diesel was set to zero lira between August 13-31. Following the zeroing of the SCT, a massive discount of approximately 9 lira was applied to diesel prices yesterday. However, due to the rise in international product prices and exchange rate movements, the new 8.89 TL hike made at midnight completely eliminated the effect of yesterday's SCT discount.

THE BIGGEST HIKE IN DIESEL IN RECENT PERIOD

With the new tariff effective from Friday, August 14, the biggest price increase in the diesel group in recent times was recorded. The increase in the liter price of gasoline and the record rise in diesel were directly reflected on drivers' fuel tanks.

GASOLINE LITER PRICE INCREASED BY 1.61 TL

An increase in gasoline prices, which drivers have been eagerly following, was also inevitable. With the 1.61 TL hike reflected on the liter of gasoline as of midnight, the liter price of gasoline climbed above the 71 to 72 lira level in three major cities. The cost of filling a tank has become heavier once again for gasoline vehicle owners.

PRICES PEAK ON THE EUROPEAN SIDE OF ISTANBUL

Following the hikes, the liter price of gasoline on the European Side of Istanbul rose to 71.43 TL. Diesel, the target of the record hike, was sold at 79.68 TL per liter, while autogas (LPG) was recorded at 33.79 TL per liter.

LATEST SITUATION ON THE ANATOLIAN SIDE OF ISTANBUL

On the Anatolian Side of Istanbul, after the increased tariff, the liter price of gasoline became 71.27 TL. On the Anatolian Side, the liter price of diesel rose to 79.53 TL, while the autogas price was at 33.19 TL.

DIESEL EXCEEDS 80 LIRA LIMIT IN ANKARA

In the capital Ankara, fuel prices also set a new record. In Ankara, the liter price of gasoline reached 72.40 TL, while the liter of diesel rose to 80.80 TL, exceeding the 80 lira threshold. LPG is being sold at 33.89 TL per liter in the city.

COST OF FILLING A TANK DOUBLED IN IZMIR

In Izmir, pump prices were also updated as of midnight. With the new hikes, the liter price of gasoline in Izmir rose to 72.69 TL, and diesel to 81.07 TL. The liter price of autogas in Izmir was set at 33.79 TL.
