In Bursa, 65-year-old Fatma Ekinci was killed at her home with her throat slit. The suspect, Erdi B., who was caught with the stolen gold and claimed to be the family's prospective son-in-law, confessed to his crime. The individual, who stated that he was aware of where the gold was hidden, mentioned that he disposed of the clothes with blood on them and the knife he used in the incident in different trash containers.
Erdi B. (30), who killed Fatma Ekinci (65) by cutting her throat in her home in the Gemlik district of Bursa, has been captured and taken into custody.
The incident occurred yesterday in an apartment on the third floor of a five-story building on Yavuz Street in the Hamidiye neighborhood. Nihat Ekinci (69) left home to go to the mosque for Friday prayers. After returning home from the prayer, Ekinci found his wife Fatma Ekinci lying motionless on the floor. Upon notification, police and medical personnel were dispatched to the address. During their inspection, the teams determined that Ekinci, a mother of two, had been killed by having her throat cut, and that a large amount of gold and jewelry present in the house had been stolen.
CAUGHT WITH THE GOLD HE STOLE FROM HER HOME
After the examination conducted by the public prosecutor at the house, Fatma Ekinci's body was taken to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for an autopsy. Teams examining the security cameras in the vicinity identified that the murder was committed by Erdi B., who is said to have a close relationship with the family and works as a computer repairman in the district. The suspect was captured and taken into custody during an operation carried out at his home at night. During the search of the house, gold and jewelry belonging to the murdered Fatma Ekinci were found.

It was reported that Erdi B., who was taken to the police station, claimed in his statement that he was a 'groom candidate' due to his relationship with Fatma Ekinci's daughter. He stated that he knew Nihat Ekinci would go to Friday prayers and was aware of where the gold was hidden, and confessed that he threw the bloody clothes he was wearing at the time of the murder and the knife he used in different trash containers.
REFERRED TO THE COURT
While the suspect was being referred to the courthouse, the police delivered the bloody clothes they found in the trash container and the knife used in the murder to the public prosecutor's office.
