The fugitive suspect, who vanished after a premeditated murder committed in Bursa in 2011, used his brother's identity for years and underwent 9 cosmetic surgeries to cover his tracks. The man, who built a new life working at a furniture shop in Izmir, was caught in a service vehicle while going to work, following a meticulous investigation by the Bursa Public Order teams who examined hundreds of camera recordings. The moment of his capture was also captured second by second on security cameras.
HE FLED AFTER COMMITTING MURDER WITH HIS BOSS
According to the information obtained, in 2011, A.K., working as a security guard at a casino in Bursa, premeditatedly killed a person together with his boss. After the incident, the boss was caught and sent to prison, while A.K. managed to escape. During the trial process, both individuals were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment.
HE HAD 9 COSMETIC SURGERIES, BUILT A NEW LIFE
The suspect, determined to have left Bursa by hitchhiking immediately after the murder and gone to Izmir, built a new life there using his brother's identity. Over time, A.K. started working an ordinary job to avoid drawing attention, and his most striking move was undergoing a total of 9 cosmetic surgeries to mislead those pursuing him. The suspect, who changed his facial features and underwent numerous operations from his nose to his chin, virtually transformed into another person.
CAUGHT ON THE SERVICE VEHICLE THROUGH METICULOUS WORK
However, teams from the Enforcement Bureau Directorate affiliated with the Bursa Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch did not close the case. In the investigation reopened years later, the teams began tracking clues by evaluating even the smallest details. Hundreds of hours of security camera footage were examined one by one, and data obtained from different cities were compared. As a result of technical and physical surveillance, it was determined that the person behind the surgically altered face was A.K.
The suspect, found to be working at a furniture workshop in Izmir, was followed step by step by the teams for days. For A.K., who was determined to take the same service vehicle to work every morning, the operation button was pressed. The police teams waited for the right moment to leave no room for doubt and captured the fugitive suspect red-handed in the service vehicle operation.
MOMENT OF CAPTURE ON CAMERA
As the 11-year escape came to an end, the intense moments were also reflected on a workplace's security camera. Taken into custody, A.K. was arrested and sent to prison by the court after his procedures at the police station.
