According to the exit polls, the main opposition party, the Labour Party, won 410 seats in the 650-seat House of Commons, thus gaining sole power. As a result, the 14-year Conservative Party rule in England came to an end.

The ruling Conservative Party, which had 365 members of parliament in the previous election, saw its seat count drop to 131. The far-right Reform UK Party won 13 seats, the Liberal Democrat Party won 61 seats, the Scottish National Party won 10 seats, and the Green Party won 2 seats.

In the country with approximately 50 million voters, citizens went to the polls yesterday to determine the new members of the House of Commons in the general election.
