Gamze Yıldırım, who was shot and killed by her estranged husband with a shotgun during a cemetery visit in Aksaray, had her sister escape with injuries, while the attacker was arrested; the family demands the heaviest penalty for the murder that occurred despite a protection order. If the Electronic Monitoring Center had previously reported that Habib Emre Yıldırım, who was sentenced to an electronic bracelet, had gone to Gamze's side, the young woman could be alive today.
In Aksaray, Beyaz Çakmak (48), who lost her sister Gamze Yıldırım (35) in a shotgun attack by her brother-in-law Habip Emre Yıldırım (38) during a cemetery visit, is continuing her treatment after being injured. Çakmak, who wants her brother-in-law to receive the heaviest punishment and said, 'We want Gamzes to stop dying,' stated, 'Our sister had no fault. She just wanted to get away from someone like him who used drugs. She suffered a lot of torment and torture. We couldn't save our sister from Habip Emre Yıldırım.'
The incident occurred on March 20 at around 1:00 PM in the Oğuzlar village of the Ortaköy district. Gamze Yıldırım, a mother of three, along with her sister Beyaz Çakmak and relatives, went to the cemetery on the first day of the holiday to visit the graves of their mother Elif and father Bünyamin Özsevgiç and began to pray. At that moment, Gamze Yıldırım's estranged husband Habip Emre Yıldırım arrived. Habip Emre Yıldırım fired at his wife and sister-in-law with a shotgun and fled. Gamze Yıldırım was hit in the head, and her sister was injured in the abdomen. Upon the notification of those nearby, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. The health team determined that Gamze Yıldırım had lost her life. The injured Beyaz Çakmak was taken to Aksaray Training and Research Hospital by ambulance. The fleeing assailant Habip Emre Yıldırım was quickly caught and arrested by the court to which he was brought. It was revealed that Yıldırım had posted threatening messages on his social media accounts.
IT WAS REVEALED THAT HE HAD BEEN UNDER ELECTRONIC MONITORING FOR 4 MONTHS It was learned that Gamze and Habip Emre Yıldırım had been married for 15 years and had three children, and that Gamze Yıldırım had started living separately from her husband and filed for divorce six months before the incident. It was revealed that Gamze Yıldırım had obtained a decision to monitor her husband Habip Emre Yıldırım with an Electronic Monitoring System (Electronic Bracelet) under the Law No. 6284 on the Protection of Family and Prevention of Violence Against Women, four months before the incident. On the day of the incident, it was determined that the Electronic Monitoring Center, affiliated with the General Directorate of Security, received a notification that Habip Emre Yıldırım had violated the electronic bracelet distance and was approaching her, thanks to the device that Gamze Yıldırım had.

Stating that they visited their parents' graves and prayed due to the holiday, Çakmak said, 'I went with my sisters Gamze Yıldırım and Yeter Sarıkaya, Yeter's son-in-law and his daughter, to my parents' grave. I waited a little outside. They were praying at the head of the grave. At that moment, Gamze's phone rang. They called from the Electronic Monitoring Center and said that Habip Emre Yıldırım had violated the electronic bracelet distance and was approaching her. Before we could turn around, Habip Emre came. He told us, 'Gather all of you in one place.' First, he fired 4-5 shots at Gamze with the shotgun. Gamze fell to the ground covered in blood. My other sister and her husband struggled a lot. They tried to take the gun from him but couldn't. Then he turned to me, first shooting me in the leg. I told my sister, 'Run away.' Because Gamze was dead. I felt that she had died there. They were constantly calling Gamze on the phone from the Electronic Monitoring Center. While I was talking to them on the phone, I thought Habip Emre had moved away, but he had followed my sister and her husband to kill them as well. He abandoned them when his car got stuck in the mud. He came back to the grave and shot my sister Gamze in the head 4-5 more times and kicked her. After that, he shot me again. He had a phone in his hand and said to the person he was talking to on the phone, 'I killed her,' and fled. Then the teams arrived,' she said.
"WE FOUGHT HARD TO SAVE MY SISTER FROM HIM" Beyaz Çakmak stated that Habip Emre Yıldırım constantly abused her sister Gamze Yıldırım and that they fought hard to save her, saying, 'We want this person to be punished. He should receive a life sentence, and we want Gamzes to stop dying. We will not let this matter rest. Our sister had no fault. She just wanted to get away from someone like him who used drugs. She suffered a lot of torment and torture. We are 8 siblings, 1 male and 7 females, and we couldn't save our sister from Habip Emre Yıldırım. There was an electronic bracelet and a restraining order against Habip Yıldırım. We were praying at our parents' grave that day. We went for a holiday visit. We had no other purpose. He had come to the grave a few days before and had come again the day before the incident. On the holiday, he drove around the village 3-4 times. From his car, a cache of weapons, a shotgun, and a saw were found. We fought hard to save my sister. She stayed in a women's shelter for a while. He threatened all of us, but we did not hand our sister over to him. We wanted her to be free. I was also seriously injured. I have been in the hospital for days. I have also been victimized.
