While the construction of the Atatürk Airport National Garden, which will be the fifth largest in the world and the largest city park in Turkey, is ongoing, aerial images show that it is turning green. Once all sections of the national garden are completed, it will cover an area of 2 million square meters. The area will feature dozens of tennis and basketball courts and will include 145,300 trees.

There are dozens of tennis and basketball courts on the runways. A total of 145,300 trees will be planted, including 350-year-old olive trees and 50-60 year-old linden and plane trees. IT WILL BE THE 5TH LARGEST CITY PARK IN THE WORLD

The national garden, which will be the fifth largest city park in the world and the largest in Turkey, will cover an area of approximately 2 million square meters when completed. With nearly 70,000 square meters of indoor sections and social facilities, the garden will feature an artificial stream called "Ab-ı Hayat Suyu," approximately 2.5 kilometers long, with viewing terraces, picnic areas, and resting places along the stream banks.

There will also be 2.5 kilometers of bike and walking paths. Additionally, the national garden will include playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball and volleyball fields, skate parks, exhibition halls in social facilities, a soup kitchen, libraries, and national reading houses.

Atatürk Airport National Garden will also be used as a disaster and earthquake shelter area for Istanbul. The garden will have the capacity to accommodate 40,000 tents and create an emergency shelter area for 165,000 people.
