On the third day of the second hearing of the Narin Güran murder case, the lawyer of the informant Nevzat Bahtiyar, who requested protection and left the courtroom under police escort yesterday, Ali Eryılmaz, arrived in the courtroom again under police protection.

On August 21 in Diyarbakır, 19 days after going missing, the lifeless body of 8-year-old Narin Güran was found in a sack hidden under bushes and stones in a stream bed. The second hearing of the murder case is continuing on its third day. Final defenses are being heard before the verdict.

NEVZAT'S LAWYER ARRIVED AT THE HEARING ESCORTED BY POLICE

Ali Eryılmaz, the lawyer of the confessing witness Nevzat Bahtiyar, who left the courtroom yesterday under police protection, arrived at the hearing again under police protection. Eryılmaz stated that when he left the hotel yesterday morning, the street was filled with relatives of the Güran family, and for this reason, he could only come from the hotel with police protection. Eryılmaz shared the following statements on his social media account:

"A week before the hearing, I requested protection while going to and from the courthouse and the courtroom from the hotel where I would stay. However, this request was not accepted. I did not state that I felt unsafe inside the courthouse. The issue is not security inside the courthouse. The issue was the necessary security while coming to the courthouse. The outside of the courthouse is filled with family members of the other defendants. Under these conditions, how can I safely enter the hearing?"

TENSE MOMENTS IN THE COURTROOM

Lawyer Ali Eryılmaz told the presiding judge, "The sensitivity you did not show was shown by the Chief of Police." The presiding judge responded, "I gave the order to the Police Department."

At the beginning of the hearing, the presiding judge stated that Eryılmaz had a request for protection and said that it was his own discretion not to attend the hearing.
