Teoman Mutlu, the leader of the National and Local Party, who participated in the broadcast of Haberler.com, stated, "The process of a Turkey without terrorism is a great opportunity that has emerged for Turkey," supporting the decision to visit İmralı. Mutlu emphasized, "It is essential for the delegation to go to İmralı to substantiate the concept of a Turkey without terrorism," while reacting to the dramatization of the meeting.
In a program hosted by presenter Melis Yaşar on Haberler.com, the President of the National and Local Party, Teoman Mutlu, evaluated the decision of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly to visit İmralı, stating that the process represents a historic threshold for Turkey. He made important statements regarding the discussions that began following the call of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.
"A TERROR-FREE TURKEY IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY THAT HAS ARISEN FOR TURKEY"
Teoman Mutlu, the President of the National and Local Party, recalled MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's remarks about İmralı, saying, "A terror-free Turkey is, in my opinion and according to the national and local party, a very significant opportunity that has arisen for Turkey, and we are a party that supports a terror-free Turkey unconditionally." He drew attention to the economic and social impacts of the process. Mutlu described the drama experienced by families due to the involvement of young people in terrorism and shared his discussions with the Diyarbakır Mothers. He stated that among the reasons given by countries that do not invest in Turkey, terrorism holds a significant place, saying, "To eliminate these, we need to support this collectively as a society with the same feelings."
"THE DISCUSSIONS ABOUT WHETHER HE WENT TO ÖCALAN OR NOT HAVE NO MEANING"
Evaluating the discussions regarding the visit to İmralı, Mutlu expressed his criticisms by saying, "The discussions about whether he went to his feet or not are, as I said, a drop in the ocean." He stated that he views the meeting with Abdullah Öcalan positively, saying, "The person who will eliminate the terrorist organization in Turkey is currently passing through İmralı Island." Regarding the objections of some political parties to the process, he expressed that he does not find the dramatized statements correct, saying, "I think it is beneficial not to focus too much on these." Mutlu also recalled some reactions from the nationalist community, stating that the process should be evaluated independently of ideological approaches.
"I SEE THE DELEGATION'S VISIT TO İMRALI AS A QUITE NORMAL AND POSITIVE SITUATION"
Continuing his statements, Mutlu said, "I see the delegation formed by the commission chosen by our nation, which aims to eliminate this terror plague from our country, visiting İmralı and contextualizing this process as quite normal and positive." He noted that if terrorism ends, there will be significant improvements in many areas, from the economy to cultural unity. Emphasizing that a decisive step must be taken regarding Turkey's decades-long terrorism issue, Mutlu expressed their support for the decisions made by the government and the commission.
