A criminal complaint has been filed with the prosecutor's office against famous artist Hülya Avşar and social media influencer Merve Taşkın for promoting prostitution, obscenity, glorifying crime, and insulting the public.
Criminal charges have been filed against Hülya Avşar and Merve Taşkın, who are prominent figures in the world of social media and television. The allegations include promoting prostitution, obscenity, glorifying crime, and statements aimed at humiliating the public.
YOUTUBE PROGRAM SPARKED CONTROVERSY
Hülya Avşar had invited social media phenomenon Merve Taşkın to her program aired on her YouTube channel a few months ago. It was claimed that Taşkın's remarks during the program drew backlash. According to a report by T24, the criminal complaint alleged that Taşkın made dialogues that would create the perception that "prostitution is an easy way to earn money," "it provides a luxurious standard of living," and "there is an admirable aspect to this lifestyle." The announcement also stated that Hülya Avşar supported Taşkın with commendatory, enviable, and normalizing expressions, and requested a ban on access to the video in question.
MERVE TAŞKIN'S PREVIOUS LEGAL PROCESS
Merve Taşkın had previously appeared before a judge due to a post she made for Valentine's Day on February 14. In the post, which she claimed was intended as humor, she wrote that she could accompany those who would spend Valentine's Day alone for 400,000 TL. Following the post, numerous citizens filed complaints with CIMER, prompting law enforcement to initiate an investigation.
The court panel lifted the judicial control measures of house arrest and travel ban, considering that the defendant's defense had been taken and evaluating the current state of the case. The trial was postponed to a later date to complete the missing documents.
