The LGS central exam, organized by the Ministry of National Education for 8th grade students, has started with the participation of over 1 million students. This year, firsts will occur in the exam, which will be held in two sessions. For exam security this year, AI-supported camera systems have been deployed, snack packages will be distributed to students between the two sessions, and extra time will be given to candidates with special needs.

The central exam within the scope of the High School Transition System (LGS), organized by the Ministry of National Education (MEB) for 8th grade students, has started.

THERE WILL BE TWO SESSIONS

The first session of the exam, which consists of two sessions, started at 09:30. The first session will end at 10:45. The second session will start at 11:30 and end at 12:50.

The central exam is being held in 81 provinces and 920 districts across the country, in 64,697 halls across 4,244 schools, and abroad in 8 countries, in 40 halls across 11 exam centers.

MORE THAN 1 MILLION STUDENTS PARTICIPATE

Preparations were made this year taking into account the 1,022,658 students who applied for the exam. Necessary measures were also taken for students who will take the exam at home or in the hospital due to their special circumstances, as well as for visually impaired and partially sighted students.

Students with special needs will be given an additional 20 minutes. Teachers who have completed the "Exam Service Implementer Course" accompany these students as "readers and coders."

STUDENTS CAN MEET THEIR NEEDS BETWEEN SESSIONS

In the first session of the exam, questions will be asked from verbal subjects. Students will be asked a total of 50 questions from Turkish, T.R. History of Revolution and Kemalism, religious culture and moral knowledge, and foreign language courses, and will be given 75 minutes to answer.

In the second session, where 40 questions from mathematics and science courses will be asked, students will have 80 minutes. During the 45-minute break between the two sessions, students can go out to the schoolyards and meet their needs.

MOST STUDENTS WERE DISTRIBUTED NUTRITION PACKAGES

During the break between sessions, students will be distributed nutrition packages consisting of dried fruit oat bars, walnuts, raisins, and water.

In line with their parents' requests, 91% of the students taking the exam will benefit from these nutrition packages. Students whose parents did not request a nutrition package will only be given water.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SUPPORTED SECURITY SYSTEM

To increase security during the exam, cameras with artificial intelligence-supported infrastructure were installed at the entrances of all buildings to ensure body search control of exam officials, and in some buildings, camera systems were installed in the halls where the exam will take place to monitor the distribution processes of exam documents to hall officials.

Students who do not take the LGS central exam, participation in which is not mandatory, will be placed in high schools through local placement.

PARENTS DID NOT LEAVE THEIR CHILDREN ALONE

Meanwhile, candidates taking the exam at Hacı Ömer Tarman Anatolian High School in Çankaya came to the school early in the morning and waited for the entries to begin.

After warnings, information, and body searches by the officials at the school, students were taken to their classrooms.

Some parents also came to the school gate with their children early in the morning, while officials asked those waiting around the school before the exam to remain quiet during the exam period.

TENSION ERUPTED MINUTES BEFORE THE EXAM

Tension erupted minutes before the LGS at a high school in Ankara. Parents reacted to the school administration, which did not allow many students into the school minutes before the exam. The school principal stated that the incident was a misunderstanding and let all students inside.
