28-year-old Selahattin C., who disappeared after sending a farewell message to his wife in Aksaray, was found dead in a mountainous area with a gunshot wound to the head. The incident is being investigated as a possible suicide.
In Aksaray, a young man who asked for forgiveness from his wife via a message and then disappeared was found dead in a mountainous area, shot in the head.
The incident occurred in a mountainous area in the central Akin village. According to the information, Selahattin Ç. (28), who was depressed, went missing after asking for forgiveness from his wife via a message. Upon receiving the message, his wife reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Teams from the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch identified possible locations the person might have gone to and initiated a search. Despite a day-long search, the person could not be found. At night, a security guard at an animal shelter saw an unattended motorcycle in the mountainous area, suspected the situation, and called the 112 Emergency Call Center.
A PISTOL AND MULTIPLE CASINGS WERE FOUND NEXT TO THE YOUNG MAN'S HEAD
Gendarmerie teams arriving at the scene shortly saw a person lying on the ground 50 meters ahead of the motorcycle. Health teams called to the scene determined that the person was dead. During the investigation, gendarmerie teams found that the person had been shot in the head with a pistol. Since the crime scene was under police jurisdiction, the investigation was handed over to law enforcement. Teams from the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch Homicide Bureau and the Crime Scene Investigation Branch found a pistol and numerous empty casings next to the person's head.
SUICIDE IS BEING CONSIDERED AS A POSSIBILITY
The person shot in the head was identified as Selahattin Çelik, who had been sought as a missing person. After the Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor's inspection at the scene, the person's lifeless body was taken to the morgue of Aksaray Education and Research Hospital for an autopsy. Police teams are considering the possibility of suicide, and the investigation continues.
