The lifeless body of the former mayor was found in the pond, leaving behind a letter filled with resentment.

Yesterday, relatives of Osman Nuri Civelek, who served as the mayor of Azdavay district in Kastamonu for 20 years, reported him missing after they could not reach him. In response, gendarmerie, AFAD, and UMKE teams initiated a search operation. Civelek's vehicle was found in Suğla Plateau, and then his body was discovered in a pond on the plateau. The body, which was taken out of the water by boat, was transported to the morgue of Azdavay State Hospital. It was revealed that Civelek, who took his own life, had also written a letter filled with grievances before ending his life.

According to the news from Abdulillah Altun of Açıksöz Newspaper; in the letter, Civelek made venomous accusations from local to general, particularly targeting AK Party Kastamonu Deputy Serap Ekmekci and the provincial chairman. Civelek also aimed at MHP's Cevat Taşkan, who won the last local election.

"Throughout my life, I have empathized with the troubles of others, done my best, and fought for those who did not come. I did not strive for myself and my family in this life. However, they love me unconditionally; even if I neglect them the most, they are my greatest supporters. Thank God, my life has passed in pursuit of goodness. I only have regrets about two people: One is Bülent Özdemir, who ruined my economic life by saving me from the clutches of a mafia loan shark, but in return, I faced all kinds of evil. The other is Cevat Taşkan, who I showed more respect than he deserved, who transferred his company to me in his most difficult time, entrusted his life to me, and as a result, dismissed my beloved ones, who have no love for humanity, without causing me any harm."

What did you do; while taking photos every day on those works, you ruthlessly dismissed the most talented and dedicated staff who were loyal to me, without paying any compensation. You set your eyes on the bread of the son of a man who dedicated his life to this district and received more sports investments than it had ever seen in its history. We established an indoor sports hall, a synthetic football field, a tennis court, an indoor swimming pool, and an equestrian sports center without burdening our budget at all. Shouldn't the man who brought these facilities to the district calculate the salary of a physical education teacher?

You accused Emine Hanım, whom you dismissed, of taking the food supplies of the municipality to the president's house. What kind of accusation is this? Look, this Osman Nuri has hosted guests for years by carrying food from his house to the municipality. He created the places where you are currently enjoying your life by receiving support from the people he hosted. You are so hypocritical that you said you wouldn't ride in the official car, but with this wealth, you couldn't even keep that promise. The businessman who gave that official car to us at half price was not even a quarter as rich as you. For God's sake, I ask you; where is the businessman who was supposed to open a factory the day you took over the position, who you said was here but got a little sick and is sitting upstairs? Where is the factory that was immediately established? This man wouldn't even build a chicken coop, let alone a factory, in this district.

My fellow citizens from Azdavay would surely spit in your face if they knew and recognized the man you say is establishing this factory.

Your only job is to try to discredit me. You were hand in hand with those who filed a lawsuit against Suğla Plateau. What happened now? Did you back down? Those who filed the lawsuit have already lost it. The higher court upheld it. You made a statement saying they withdrew from the lawsuit they lost. You are a complete fraud. The halt of work in Suğla is due to a document deficiency from the ministry. While obtaining the institutional opinion, they took it for type A, but they took it for type B. They are trying to correct that. What intervention could those who filed the lawsuit have in this?
