A lion kept in a house in Lahore, Pakistan, jumped out of the garden and attacked a woman and two children walking on the road. The footage captured by security cameras clearly shows how terrifying the incident was.

The incident occurred on Thursday night on a busy street. The footage shows the lion breaking through the barrier of its enclosure and running quickly towards the three people passing by. While the surrounding people experienced great panic, the lion first attacked a woman carrying shopping bags. The animal jumped on the woman, knocking her to the ground. It then chased after two children aged five and seven.

The children's father claimed that the owners of the lion came outside during the attack and watched the events with amusement.

The three victims of the attack were taken to the hospital. Authorities stated that the injured individuals were not in life-threatening condition.

The Lahore Police announced that the homeowners who fled with the animal were caught within 12 hours after the incident. Three people were detained in connection with the incident.

The police also confiscated the 11-month-old male lion and handed it over to a wildlife park. Park officials reported that the animal is healthy.

In Punjab, Pakistan's most populous province, keeping exotic animals is considered a symbol of power and status, especially among the wealthy. However, this situation also brings serious risks.

Keeping lions in Lahore is legal, but it is only possible with special permission and strict regulations. Laws were tightened after an adult lion escaped in another neighborhood in December 2024.
