The New City Project, implemented within the borders of Arnavutköy in the north of Istanbul, draws attention with its rapidly rising residential blocks and infrastructure works. Aerial footage captured by a drone clearly shows that a new city is being built step by step in the area. Experts emphasize that New City will not only provide a solution to Istanbul's housing needs but will also become one of the future living centers of the city.
New City, rising in the north of Istanbul, stands out as a model beyond the classical understanding of urbanization with its wide boulevards, planned residential areas, and social and cultural amenities. The region is also strategically located in terms of transportation due to its proximity to Istanbul Airport and connections to the North Marmara Highway and Nakkaş.
A NEW CITY IS BORN As the New City area and its surroundings were captured by a drone camera from the air, it was observed that the blocks are rapidly rising and that infrastructure and road works are being carried out simultaneously. The images revealed that a new city is indeed being born in the north of Istanbul.
"SOLID GROUND, NO EARTHQUAKE RISK. A PROMISING REGION" Real estate expert Ebubekir Yıldırım, who has been active in the region for many years, pointed out the potential of New City, stating, "A new city is being established in Istanbul. It is referred to as the 40th district. Its name is New City. As you can see, there is a very developed zoning plan here. 50-55 meter wide avenues, wide streets, social and cultural living spaces are offered here, which are no longer found in Istanbul. With the North Marmara Highway, Nakkaş connection, Canal Istanbul line, Hacımaşlı, Baklalı, and Dursunköy housing, this place is becoming a new living area. Traffic and quality of life in Istanbul are becoming increasingly difficult every day. However, there is planned urbanization here. Additionally, we must not forget the reality of earthquakes. The ground in this region has a solid structure extending to the Thrace line. The newly constructed state projects are already rising as earthquake-resistant, quality structures. Proximity to the airport, new shopping centers, marina projects, and Karaburun connection roads make Arnavutköy a promising region for both investment and trade," he expressed.
"THE HOUSING NEED THAT WILL ARISE WILL BE MET HERE" Real estate expert Mehmet Şakir Genç stated that the region will gain much greater momentum in the coming years, saying, "These houses will gain a lot of speed. Our Minister of Environment and Urbanization, Murat Kurum, gives special importance to this region. Planning is being done especially for Arnavutköy and its surroundings to relieve Istanbul's housing needs. A more orderly, more regular city is aimed, and in fact, this will be the new face of Istanbul. Many projects are being implemented in this area; exhibition center, shopping mall, new industrial zones. All of these create a significant housing need. This need will be met with New City. The ground in the region is rocky and solid, providing an alternative to Istanbul's old and risky areas in terms of earthquake risk. It is also aimed to meet the housing need that will arise with the evacuation of old buildings through the urban transformation process here," he stated.
IT IS A CANDIDATE TO BE A FAVORITE FOR INVESTORS AND THOSE SEEKING A NEW LIFE Experts emphasize that New City is not just a housing area; it also offers a new lifestyle. With wide roads, planned settlements, social areas, and transportation networks, this new city rising in the north of Istanbul seems to be a candidate to become a favorite for both investors and those seeking a new life in the coming years.
