A 19-year-old girl living in Samsun claimed that she has been unable to escape from a married man who has been stalking and threatening her for 3 years, expressing that she is living in fear of death.
Sudenaz Genç (19), who had to leave school due to a tradesman around the course she attended at the age of 16 to prepare for university, stated that her life has turned into a nightmare over the past 3 years. Despite moving to another neighborhood, the young girl could not shake off the obsessive individual, expressing that her life has darkened and that she has received death threats.
"THREATS AND STALKING HAVE CONTINUED FOR 3 YEARS"
Sudenaz Genç, who claims that C. T. (33), a married man, continues to stalk and threaten her, said, "I was persistently stalked when I was only 16 years old. I had to leave the tutoring center because of this stalking. I also had to leave high school in my last year and switch to an open high school. The person in question was persistently trying to follow me and pick me up in his car. I reported this situation. The court asked me for evidence. At that moment, I was so scared that I couldn't take any evidence. Later, the case was dismissed. After this decision, the stalking continued insistently, and I had to leave school. When the court notice went to the person's house, his wife learned that I had filed a complaint against him. When his wife saw me in the market, she attacked me and broke a glass bottle on my head. She also assaulted me and my mother. They received a penalty for this matter. After that, I turned 19, and this situation is still ongoing. I had to move my home because I was being stalked and slandered. There were also statements made against my honor," she said.
"I DON'T WANT TO DIE"
Sudenaz, expressing that she does not want to die, said, "Moreover, they constantly filed complaints against me with the same false witnesses. I am really tired and have been psychologically worn out. Nearly 3 years of my life have gone by. My life suddenly sank. I am very bad right now. I don't know what to do. I am being threatened with death and receiving messages. Due to the counter lawsuits he filed against me, he also learned the address of my new home. I see cars in my new neighborhood; I am being followed. I receive messages like, 'Who are the people next to you, who are you to complain about our sister-in-law?' I don't want to die. I want a solution or a deterrent punishment to be given. The person was imprisoned, but he was released after 1 month. After that, he became more obsessive. I really don't want to die. They say they won't let me live in Samsun," she said.
"THE COURT GAVE A SENTENCE REDUCTION"
Sudenaz explained that despite the other party receiving a penalty, the court reduced the sentence due to their good behavior, saying, "The court reduced the sentence. I don't think it should have. I do not find this decision correct. He behaves properly in court, but as soon as he leaves, he continues to insult me and my mother with unacceptable words. This is no longer a normal situation," she said.
"WE MOVED BUT COULDN'T ESCAPE"
Sudenaz's mother, L.G. (43), explained that despite their move, they could not find a solution and that the address of their new home was revealed in the last court case, saying, "I am a mother of 3 children. While we were living in Tepecik Neighborhood, we became involved in a lawsuit due to the person stalking my daughter and his wife assaulting her. We have been to court many times. After these incidents, they made vulgar and threatening posts about my daughter Sudenaz and me on social media. They also said they wouldn't let us live. We have been in court for nearly 3 years. During this process, we have become unable to go out on the balcony of our house. They have slandered us with false witnesses and made us struggle in court. We have ongoing cases in the appellate court and regional court. There are also closed cases that have been concluded. We had to move to avoid the person and to prevent trouble for my husband and children. Even after moving, he is still bothering us. Every time my daughter goes out, I live in fear, wondering, 'Will something bad happen to my daughter?' He says he won't let us live in Samsun and that he won't give us peace," she stated.
"MY CHILDREN'S FUTURE HAS BEEN RUINED"
The mother stated that all family members have been negatively affected by the events, saying, "They are making vulgar and slanderous posts about us on social media. Because of this, he went to prison and was later released. On November 15, the couple received a penalty in the notice that was sent. They received these penalties for using vulgar words in front of the court. After this notice came to them, they started bothering us again. I am asking for help from the authorities. We have no peace in Samsun. We are afraid that something will happen to us. We have suffered a lot of material and moral damage," she explained.
C. T., who is at the center of the allegations, stated that he did not want to make a statement regarding the accusations against him.
