While temperatures continue to hover around seasonal norms across the country, assessments for many cities, especially Istanbul, predict winds that could reach 60 kilometers per hour and local downpours. According to the latest weather forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM), the weather across the country is expected to be mostly partly cloudy and clear this week. While no significant change in air temperatures is expected, temperatures are forecast to be around seasonal norms nationwide, and locally above seasonal norms in the southern and eastern regions.
According to the latest assessments, no major change in temperatures is expected, while localized showers will be effective in certain regions. Wind speed is forecast to reach 60 kilometers per hour. Citizens were asked to be cautious against possible adverse conditions, especially from mid-week onward.
SHOWERS ARE COMING
Local showers and thunderstorms are expected in the surroundings of Rize, Artvin and Ardahan, in the inland parts of Sinop, Samsun, Giresun and Trabzon, and in the Taurus Mountains region of the Mediterranean.
According to the new weather map published by the General Directorate of Meteorology; Precipitation will continue to be effective, mostly light and moderate, in the northern regions and the inland parts of the Mediterranean throughout the week. On Thursday, local precipitation passages are forecast for the north of Marmara, especially Istanbul, and the eastern Black Sea coast, and the rainy weather will continue to be effective in the northern parts towards the weekend.

Since the wind is expected to blow strongly (40-60 km/h) from the northeast in the southwest of Marmara and the North Aegean, it is necessary to be careful and cautious against possible adverse conditions.
