The Meteorology had warned! Heavy rain caused difficult moments for the people of Istanbul.

Heavy rain, which was effective in some parts of Istanbul, negatively affected life.

The rain, which started in the morning hours in the European side of the city, was effective in some areas in the form of thunderstorm showers. Heavy traffic occurred in Şişli, Beşiktaş, Kağıthane, and Sarıyer due to the rain, and drivers moved slowly on the D-100 highway and TEM Motorway.

MOTORCYCLISTS TOOK SHELTER UNDER BRIDGES

Some vehicle drivers had difficulty in moving in traffic due to the water puddles formed on the roads. Motorcyclists who were traveling on Zincirlikuyu and Bakırköy Sahil Kennedy Avenue and caught unprepared for the rain took shelter under the bridges.

TOURISTS LOOKED FOR SHELTER

Some tourists in Sultanahmet, one of the city's tourist attractions, sought shelter under the trees in the square and the tents of street corn sellers to protect themselves from the rain, while some took photos in the rain. Some citizens tried to protect themselves from the rain with umbrellas, while others took shelter in tram stops and closed areas under buildings.

Due to the rain in Zeytinburnu, Bahçelievler, and Bakırköy, water puddles formed on some streets. The drains in Dolmabahçe Tunnel Maçka exit were blocked by the rain, and teams are working in the area. It was also reported that there were flood reports in some parts of the European side, and the fire department teams were called.

CABLE CAR SERVICES CANCELED

In a statement made by Metro Istanbul, it was announced that the TF1 Maçka-Taşkışla and TF2 Eyüp-Piyer Loti Cable Car lines were not in service due to adverse weather conditions. In another announcement made on Metro Istanbul's social media account, it was stated that due to adverse weather conditions, the T1 Kabataş-Bağcılar Tramway Line operated between Eminönü-Bağcılar for a while, and the T5 Eminönü-Alibeyköy Tramway Line operated between Küçükpazar-Alibeyköy Cep Otogarı stations.

HEAVY RAIN WARNING

According to the statement made by the Istanbul Regional Forecast and Early Warning Center of the Meteorology 1st Region Directorate, local heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected today, especially in the northern districts of the city and around the Bosphorus. It is warned to be cautious and take precautions against sudden floods, waterlogging, lightning, local hailstorms, and disruptions in transportation.
