A striking decision has been made regarding Dilan Polat, who became a trending topic on social media after opening a live broadcast following the shooting of her husband, Can Polat. Upon the application of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, access to Dilan Polat's Instagram account, which has 6.3 million followers, has been blocked. It was learned that the decision was made on the grounds of maintaining public order and protecting general health.
Can Polat, the bodyguard of the couple Engin and Dilan Polat, was killed in a armed attack on June 3 in Izmir. Immediately after the incident, Dilan Polat opened a live broadcast on her social media account and made a tearful plea for help.
The broadcast made by Polat quickly became a trending topic, and the footage caused a wide stir on social media.
MINISTRY OF FAMILY AND SOCIAL SERVICES FILED A PETITION
Following the reactions that emerged after the broadcast, the Ministry of Family and Social Services stepped in. The Ministry filed a petition requesting access restriction to Dilan Polat's Instagram account.
COURT ISSUES ACCESS RESTRICTION DECISION
The Ankara Criminal Court of Peace, evaluating the petition, decided to impose an access restriction on Dilan Polat's Instagram account on the grounds of protecting public order and safeguarding general health.
After the technical process was completed, the decision was implemented, and Dilan Polat's Instagram account was blocked from access in Turkey.
