The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the firing by Israeli soldiers during a visit to the city of Jenin by a group of diplomats, including an official from Turkey's Consulate General in Jerusalem. In a statement made by the ministry, a call was also made to the international community to take concrete steps to end Israel's "impunity."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a written statement regarding the attack by the Israeli army on a delegation that included Turkish diplomats.
"WE CONDEMN IN THE STRONGEST TERMS"
In the statement made by the ministry, it was emphasized, "We strongly condemn the opening of fire by Israeli soldiers on a group of diplomats, including an official from our Consulate General in Jerusalem, during their visit to the city of Jenin. This attack, which endangered the lives of diplomats, is another example of Israel's systematic disregard for international law and human rights. Targeting diplomats poses a serious threat not only to individual security but also to the environment of respect and trust that forms the basis of inter-state relations."
CALL TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
The statement emphasized that the attack should be investigated as soon as possible and that those responsible should be held accountable, calling on the international community to strongly condemn this dangerous act and to take concrete steps to end Israel's "impunity shield."
ISRAEL'S ATTACK ON 35 DIPLOMATS VISITING JENIN
Palestinian Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmed ed-Dik stated that Israeli soldiers opened fire on the foreign diplomatic delegation that reached the Jenin Refugee Camp in the occupied West Bank to "intimidate" and "scare" them. Dik said, "Israeli occupation forces opened fire with live ammunition in violation of the rules as the diplomatic delegation, consisting of 35 ambassadors, consuls, and diplomats, arrived at the entrance of the camp." It was noted that the delegation included diplomats from Turkey's Consulate General in Jerusalem.
ISRAEL CLAIMED THE DELEGATION DID NOT FOLLOW THE GIVEN ROUTE
On the other hand, a written statement from the Israeli army claimed that the diplomatic delegation entered Jenin in a "coordinated" manner. The statement alleged that an approved route was provided to the diplomatic delegation as part of the coordination and that they were instructed to follow this route due to the area being an active conflict zone. It was noted that Israeli soldiers in the area opened warning fire to disperse them, and it was stated that no injuries or damages were reported.
