In Adana, 60,000 TL and 9 Republic gold coins were stolen from the bedroom of Nazlı Tören, who had left the key for her children returning from school in the shoe rack in front of her door. Nazlı Tören filed a complaint against 3 women she identified via security camera footage, accusing them of theft.
A common negligence in Turkey proved costly this time. A key left in a shoe rack by the door in Adana became the target of thieves.
THEY TOOK THE KEY AND ENTERED THE HOUSE
The incident occurred on April 21 in the 19 Mayıs neighborhood of Yüreğir district. According to allegations, three women who came to the home of Nazlı Tören, a mother of two, took the key left in the shoe rack by the door and entered the house. The suspects stole 9 Republic gold coins and 60,000 Turkish liras from the bedroom and quickly fled.
THE THEFT WAS CAUGHT ON CAMERA
When Tören returned home and noticed her cupboard was open, she realized her gold and money were stolen and reported to the police. After reviewing security camera footage, Tören stated that the suspects left the street with their faces covered.
“I HAD WITHDRAWN THE MONEY FROM THE BANK”
Tören, who said she was outside with her child on the day of the incident, said, “I had withdrawn 65,000 TL from the bank and put it in my cupboard. In the morning, I took 5,000 TL and left. When I returned, my cupboard was open, and the 60,000 TL and my gold were gone.”

Tören, who earns her living through e-commerce, stated that the stolen money was set aside for her business and said, “They took the money I saved with great effort. They stole my children’s livelihood, I do not forgive them.”
