Drone footage of the operation in which murder suspect Erkan Aslan was captured has emerged in the investigation into the deaths of driver Ercan Zengin and 1.5-month pregnant Nurgül Aslan in an armed attack on a parked car in the Söke district of Aydın.

In the Söke district of Aydın, driver Ercan Zengin and 1.5-month pregnant Nurgül Aslan lost their lives in an armed attack on a parked vehicle a few days ago. The murder suspect, husband Erkan Aslan, was captured in a rural area during an operation; drone footage of the operation has emerged.

FOUND DEAD IN THE CAR

The incident occurred at around 14:00 on May 30 at the closed market area in Yenicamii Neighborhood. Fire was opened on a parked vehicle. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. During their inspection, teams determined that the driver, Ercan Zengin (31), had lost his life. Nurgül Aslan (25), who was with Zengin, was taken to Söke Fehime Faik Kocagöz State Hospital after initial medical intervention, and then transferred to Adnan Menderes University Hospital, but the 1.5-month pregnant Aslan could not be saved.

As part of the investigation into the murders, efforts were launched to capture Nurgül Aslan's husband, Erkan Aslan (29), as a suspect. It was determined that Aslan confessed to committing the murders and recorded them with his mobile phone.

OPERATION AT 5 ADDRESSES

In connection with the double murder, teams from the Provincial Police Department's Homicide Bureau and Germencik District Police Department conducted an operation at 5 addresses in Sazlıköy Neighborhood on June 1. During the operation, Erkan Aslan's father V.A. (53), Ferdi Y. (31), Yener Y. (38), Muhammed M. (17), and Berat A. (18) were taken into custody. Searches at the addresses yielded 2 pistols and 20 rounds of ammunition. After police procedures, suspects Muhammed M. and Berat A. were released following their statements.

2 ARRESTS

On the same night, police conducted a second operation. During this operation, Muhammed M. (17) and Berat A., who had been previously released, along with his brother Berkan A., were taken into custody. After police procedures, the suspects were sent to the courthouse. Suspects Berat A. and Muhammet M. were arrested, while Berkan A. was released under judicial control, and the other 4 suspects were also released. As the investigation continues, another operation was conducted the previous day. During an operation at 3 different addresses, Erkan Aslan's cousins İ.A. (61), Y.A. (32), Ö.A. (23), and N.G. (22) were taken into custody.

WAS PREPARING TO FLEE

Teams tracking Aslan determined that the suspect was hiding at various addresses in Kuşadası district. Realizing he would be caught, Erkan Aslan left his hiding place and fled to the rural area of Davutlar Neighborhood. Aslan, believed to be preparing to flee abroad, was determined to be hiding in the terrain to cover his tracks. Police initiated operations in the area and captured Erkan Aslan in the terrain of Davutlar Neighborhood, taking him into custody. Erkan Aslan and 4 others with him were sent to Söke Courthouse after their procedures yesterday.

MOMENT OF CAPTURE EMERGES

Erkan Aslan (29) and his relatives Yiğit A. (32), Nihat G. (22), along with Efkan A., who was taken into custody during the day, were arrested by the court they were brought before. Suspects Ö.A. and İ.A. were released under judicial control. Thus, the number of detainees rose to 6.
