A 78-year-old woman named Nadiye Akalın and her 57-year-old daughter-in-law Zeliha Akalın were hit by a car while trying to cross the street to go to the evening prayer in Sivas. The mother-in-law died at the scene, while the daughter-in-law passed away at the hospital; the driver was taken into custody.

THROWN ONTO THE ROAD
The accident occurred around 19:30 last night on 4 Eylül Street in İstiklal Neighborhood, where Nadiye Akalın and her daughter-in-law Zeliha Akalın were hit by a car with license plate 41 HG 416, driven by F.B., while they were heading to the Ali Muhtar Mosque on the street for evening prayer. The impact of the collision threw the bride and mother-in-law onto the road.
BOTH LOST THEIR LIVES
Health and police teams were dispatched to the accident site upon notification. During the check conducted by the teams, Nadiye Akalın was found to have lost her life. Her injured daughter-in-law Zeliha Akalın was taken to Cumhuriyet University Medical Faculty Hospital by ambulance. Zeliha Akalın, who was admitted for treatment, could not be saved either. The driver F.B. was taken into custody, and an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
