In the Şavşat district of Artvin, Nalan Kaya, who filed a complaint of sexual abuse for her mentally disabled daughter, suffered a ruptured aorta due to high blood pressure and lost her life after being taken to the hospital. Her funeral was held after the prayer at Kemal Paşa Mosque.
53-year-old Nalan Kaya, who lost her life after falling ill at a police station while filing a complaint about the alleged sexual abuse of her mentally disabled daughter in Şavşat district of Artvin, was laid to rest.
The incident occurred yesterday evening in Şavşat city center. According to the claim, mentally disabled Y.S. (26) told her mother Nalan Kaya that she had been sexually abused. Upon this, Kaya went to the police station and filed a complaint. Police teams quickly caught and detained the suspect T.K. based on the provided description.
SHE COLLAPSED AT THE POLICE STATION AND DIED
During the statement procedures, Nalan Kaya's blood pressure rose and she suddenly collapsed. Kaya was taken to Şavşat State Hospital by ambulance called to the scene, where it was determined that her aorta had ruptured.
The 53-year-old woman, who was taken into treatment, could not be saved despite all interventions by doctors. Kaya, known to be the mother of one child, caused great sorrow in the district.
SUSPECT ARRESTED
The detained suspect T.K. was arrested by the duty judge and sent to prison after being referred to the courthouse following police procedures.
LAID TO REST
Nalan Kaya’s funeral was buried after the noon funeral prayer at Kemal Paşa Mosque. The funeral was attended by Şavşat District Governor Bayram Köse, Şavşat Mayor Durmuş Aydın, her relatives, and many citizens.
