The vigil of the mothers of Diyarbakır, who started on September 3, 2019, in front of the HDP Provincial Headquarters building with the hope of reuniting with their children who were taken to the mountains, continues.
"OUR ONLY PRAYER DURING RAMADAN IS FOR OUR CHILDREN TO COME DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAINS AND RETURN"
Mother Süheyla Demir, who has been coming to the sit-in for her daughter Hayal, who was taken to the mountains 11 years ago, said they are waiting for their children here. Stating that they have spent many Ramadans and holidays here, Demir said, "But we spent them all with a heavy heart. We are here, determined until the end. We are waiting for our children; we miss them very much. Our only prayer during this blessed month of Ramadan is for our children to come down from the mountains and return. Let them return to their mothers' arms. Mothers and fathers do not want to shed tears anymore. We want a Turkey without terrorism. I have been waiting for my daughter for 11 years," she said.
"WE HAVE NEITHER A HOLIDAY NOR A CELEBRATION"
Güzide Demir, the mother of Aziz, emphasized that they have been fighting this struggle for 6 years and that they will not leave until their children return. Demir expressed that Ramadan has come and the holiday will come, saying, "We have neither a holiday nor a celebration. I have been away from my child for 9 years. I miss my child very much. I will not leave here until I get my child back," she stated.
