Deniz Zeyrek wrote that after the "absolute nullity" decision in CHP, Özgür Özel and his team have reached the final stage of preparations for a new party. Zeyrek stated that the process has accelerated due to voters' pressure of "don't dawdle in CHP, hit the road for something new"; he reported that the new formation will be directly called "New Party," three separate teams are working on a red-white dominated logo design, and there is a dispute over the "symbol" in the logo.
After the congress in CHP, the "absolute nullity" debates and legal process brought the party to the brink of division. Journalist Deniz Zeyrek wrote in his column today that Özgür Özel and his team are about to complete preparations for a new party. According to backstage information, the new party's name is planned to be directly "Yeni Parti" (New Party), and three separate teams have been commissioned for logo work.
"DON'T WASTE TIME IN CHP, SET OFF ON A NEW PATH"
In his article today, Deniz Zeyrek revealed how public perception has shifted in favor of Özgür Özel with striking figures. Zeyrek noted that at the beginning of the process, the rate of those saying "stay in CHP, fight" to Özel and his team was around 80%, but he wrote that this picture has completely reversed: "At the start, those saying 'stay in the party' were 80%. It dropped to 50% by the end of the first month. In recent days, the rate of those saying 'stay in CHP' has fallen below 20%. The street is now giving Özgür Özel the message: 'Don't waste time there, set off on a new path.'"
Following this rapid shift in public opinion, Özgür Özel and his team have accelerated the process of forming a new party by holding consecutive meetings with members of parliament and former party executives.
THE PARTY'S NAME IS SET: NEW PARTY
Initially, alternatives such as Yürüyüş (March), İstiklal (Independence), and Değişim Partisi (Change Party) were reflected in backstage discussions for the name of the new party. However, in line with ease of daily use and strategic goals, a surprising name has emerged: "Yeni Parti" (New Party).
The main reasons for the team's choice of this name are listed as follows:
- It is memorable and extremely easy to pronounce,
- It directly contains a message of "change",
- In case of a return under the CHP roof in the future, it serves as a bridge to easily build the perception of a "New CHP".
THOSE WHO WANT "JUST TEXT" VERSUS THOSE WHO WANT A "SYMBOL"
After the name was finalized, orders were placed with three separate professional centers for logo design. The companies are expected to make presentations to Özgür Özel and his team this week. However, there is a mild disagreement among party aides regarding the logo design:
Özgür Özel's Demand: Özel requested from the professional teams a design without any symbol, where only the phrase "YENİ PARTİ" (NEW PARTY) is prominent in text, with red and white colors predominantly used.
Aides' Objection: Some names in the team argue that a logo without a symbol could create difficulties for illiterate or elderly voters at the ballot box, insisting that the logo must include a distinct symbol.
