Mohammad Baqir Zolqadr was appointed as the Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, replacing Ali Larijani, who was killed in the Israeli attack.
The war that began with the attacks of the USA and Israel on Iran has entered its 25th day, while tensions in the region continue to rise. Among those killed in Iran recently was Ali Larijani.
ALI LARIJANI WAS DESCRIBED AS A "SHADOW LEADER"
Ali Larijani, who belongs to one of Iran's prominent and highly religious families, was described as a "shadow leader."
A NEW NAME HAS BEEN DETERMINED
The Tehran administration did not leave the high-level security position vacant. Iran appointed Mohammad Baqir Zolqadr as the Secretary General of the National Security Council in place of Larijani.
WHO IS MOHAMMAD BAQIR ZOLQADR?
Baqir Zolqadr, born in 1954, became a member of the Islamic Revolution Committees before the revolution. He studied economics and public administration at Tehran University and earned a doctorate in strategic management from the National Defense University, combining his academic knowledge with military discipline. He later joined the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and served as the commander of the Ramadan Headquarters during the Iran-Iraq War.
Zolqadr also served as the Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and later held positions as Deputy Minister of Interior and Deputy Head of the Judiciary.
He was most recently appointed as the Secretary General of the Expediency Discernment Council.
